Exton, PA — February 19, 2020— Hankin Group has announced today that Keva Flats has been awarded LEED Gold. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), is the most widely used green building rating system in the world and an international symbol of excellence. Keva Flats, Hankin Group’s newest luxury apartment community located in Exton, consists of five buildings, which include 242 apartment units and amenity spaces.
Mahesh Ramanujam, president and CEO, USGBC, commented on Hankin Group’s recent accomplishment, “Each new LEED certification brings us one step closer to revolutionizing the spaces where we live, learn, work and play. Lance Hillegas, VP of Sustainable Development and Design, and Laura Maiale, Development and Sustainability Manager, were instrumental in the LEED Gold certification of Keva Flats. Hankin Group has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2020 honor from The Philadelphia Inquirer. The honor is based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization. For over a decade, the Top Workplaces honor has recognized companies for their commitment to employee satisfaction and helped companies stand out among competitors to attract talent.

Stacy Martin has been elected as President for the PA/NJ/DE Chapter of the CCIM for 2020, making her the first female President of this Chapter since its inception in 1979. Martin has been with Hankin for 18 years. As Director of Commercial Sales and Leasing for Hankin Group, she oversees over 1,500,000 sq. ft. of real estate. Additionally, Martin is on several other boards, including Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry (Executive Board, 7 years), Downingtown Area STEM Academy Advisory Board (7 years), i2n Board (8 years), and the CCIM Board (2 years, 2019 – VP & 2020, President). Formerly, Stacy has served on the Chester County Economic Development Council Board (6 years) and the CII Council Board.
Last week, Hankin Group received the 2019 West Whiteland Township Historic Preservation Award. This honor recognized Hankin’s restoration of Ivy Cottage, which is located on West Lincoln Highway, adjacent to the company’s Keva Flats apartment community. Hankin Group restored the cottage, originally built in 1799 by the Thomas Family, and converted the space into two apartments. The residential building is now referred to as The Chandler House, a homage to the name of the family that most recently resided in the notable household. Hankin Group credits Robert Powers & Associates for helping to maintain the historical integrity of the home, Al Walton and his team for insuring the flawless execution of the construction, Laura Maiale for her work on the stunning residential design, and the entire team at Hankin Group for their support and excitement about this unique project.
